About Cooking with Class

Cooking with Class is a leading provider of culinary education for novice, intermediate and advanced cooks. Nanci Wokas, Chef and proprietor of Cooking with Class has been a culinary arts teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area for the last twelve years. Having working in and around the culinary field for much of her life, Nanci is well versed in all areas of the culinary arts. Cooking with Class dedicates itself in providing its students and customers with up to date and informative culinary programs.

Classes and curriculum are based on technique driven principals. This allows our students to understand the true fundamentals of cooking and to then be able to apply these methods to all levels of cooking. We believe once a client understands the basic fundamentals of cooking, the experience will be easier and become a much more rewarding experience.

About Chef Nanci

Chef Nanci has combined teaching skills, cooking talents and her love of people to create her popular San Francisco Bay Area gourmet cooking company, Cooking with Class. Nanci is a native California who has been working in the culinary field for over twenty years. She has made many television appearance and has had numerous recipes featured in local California newspaper food and wine sections.

Nanci combines her love of teaching with her passion for great cooking through a series of specialty classes taught at
Sur La Table, a national chain of cooking schools and culinary stores.

In 2001 Nanci started "Cooking with Class in Tuscany at Frattoria degli Usignoli (Farm of the Nightingales). While working in a traditional Tuscan Farm kitchen we focus on cooking classes featuring a variety of Tuscan fare. We also conduct in depth studies of Tuscan culture and lifestyles within the culinary realm. Woven in to the rich culinary programs are field trips to local wineries, artisan cheese and olive factories and several open air markets.
Nanci is currently putting the finishing touches on her first cookbook be to titled "The Basics and Beyond - Demystifying Cooking". The book will feature many of the recipes Nanci has created during the past twelve years of teaching as well as her all time favorite family recipes and traditions. Using a technique driven approach, Nanci's aim in writing the book is to make cooking fun, easy and to ensure your meals turn out tasting great!
